The City of San Javier celebrates International Women's Day with various activities from next Monday, as a panel discussion on the presence of women in business, women mathematicians exposure and sports program "Move for you , move through it "
The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez, and Council for Equality, Guadalupe Garcia, and Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, were presented today at a press conference programming the International Day of Working Women 2013.
The mayor stressed the importance of this day, that "for more than a century commemorates the struggle of women by proclaiming their rights."
It also noted that throughout the year the Department of Equality works in this field with program like "Between Us", courses and workshops for job placement, as well as specific actions against violence on women.
On the occasion of International Women's Day the City Council has scheduled a series of activities designed to extol the achievements of women in areas such as science or business, and offer women a forum to express pinatarenses concerns.
The Women and Equality councilor explained that the activities will begin on Monday, March 4, with activity "Gatherings of Women", at 10:00 am, and the opening of the exhibition "Women Mathematics" from the 12:00 pm in the Cultural Hall of Cajamurcia, courtesy of the Museum of Water and focusing on the achievements of 14 women in the scientific field and the challenges they faced to achieve them.
Activities will continue on Wednesday, March 6 with a panel discussion on the presence of women in business, with the participation of women entrepreneurs in the region who have developed their business in very different sectors.
On Friday, March 8, will be demonstrated institutional reading of International Women's Day.

Besides these activities, the departments of Equality and Sport have launched the Women and Sport program "Move for you, move through it," which includes outdoor sporting events for three consecutive Sundays in the gym who helped, sports centers and hotel establishments in the municipality.
The Councillor for Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, said that this activity will begin on March 10 with a march of 6 miles in aid of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, which will start at 10:00 pm on Mar Park, next to the Lo Pagan esplanade.
On Sunday 17 March, will give a master class to benefit Caritas popular in the Plaza of Spain, including various forms as aerodance, fitball, zumba, aerobics and belly dancing, among others.
Also, on March 24 will conclude the program with an indoor cycling marathon from 10:00 to 13:30, to benefit Love for Love in the Arts & Leisure Centre Emerging.
The councilman explained that these activities are free, although participants may make a donation to receive the dorsal to the three beneficiary social associations.
Pedro Luis Vera thanked the involvement and collaboration of Bay High Performance Center, San Pedro Sports Centre, Sports Centre San Javier, Pinatar Arena Sport Club and Kebana Ballet, which will contribute to the realization of this event with personal and material resources.
In addition, participants entered to win ten dinners for two at restaurants and bars Contributors: Los Molinos, Aquilino, Magellan, The Cave, The Traiña, Portuguese, and Galician.
