The "Shopping Cart solidarity" is an activity proposed by the Department of Citizenship that is based on the distribution of staple foods for associations that act as clearinghouses food bank.

The "basket solidarity" is added to foods municipal associations and social relief food bank receive Cartagena and Murcia that sometimes remain low when not counting in the diet with protein, vegetables, fruits and vitamins health.

According to the mayor of Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea, this charity project aims to assist needy families in the municipality, through the distribution of food, encourage cooperation between public administration and Voluntary Associations and develop the concept of active social participation with the most needy of the town.

Furthermore, the "shopping cart solidarity" encourages participation in social policy and represents the culmination of the exercise of multilevel governance.

Increased inclusion, participation of the population and local authorities to curb social exclusion and help families who are in need, contributing to a healthy diet.

With € 20,000 grant will help local Associations food delivery to promote proper feeding needy families, promotes cooperation, coordination and optimization of resources between Local Government and Care Partnerships for improving the public in cases of intervention on inequalities in health and nutrition, power intervention in food staples groups at risk of social exclusion and provides spaces for living, social inclusion and solidarity

To carry out this project, since Citizenship and Social Services have held meetings with collaborative partnerships with food banks, establishing methodologies and guidelines for action, bringing the resources of partnerships, volunteerism, aid received from the Plan Food Aid and the Region of € 20,000 municipal grant to try to encourage social participation, with the common goal of mitigating the effects of the crisis on families.
