The installation of a footbridge connecting the Salinas de San Pedro to La Manga del Mar Menor, following unanimous approval by the Regional Assembly may assume, according to EQUO RM, a danger to the correct conservation of the reserve.
Therefore opposes its construction, it may be against the rules on PORN and Natural Park declared as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and Site of Community Interest (SCI).
Although popular deputy José Miguel Luengo, who moved the motion, said in the Assembly to respect the flora and fauna of the nature reserve, EQUO RM estimates that this gateway is a factor of human pressure on the natural, and regrets that all political groups have coinicidido Regional Assembly in this matter, endangering Natural Park, which is included in the Natura 2000 Network areas.
In the same vein, the Green Party urges the competent authorities to halt the bidding process and construction of this footbridge.
