The concessionaire has started the work to reform the drinking water network of the municipality, to reduce water losses and the lack of pressure in various areas and will involve the installation of 20 kilometers of pipeline and 2,500 new connections.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and Town Planning, Angela Gaona, visited this week the renovation of drinking water network that Aqualia service concessionaire has started in the field Lo Pagan football and subsequently extended to the old towns of San Pedro and Lo Pagan and the district of Los Veras.
This work, whose budget amounts to 2.85 million euros, is the replacement of old and damaged part of the distribution network of drinking water.
So, it will install 20,000 meters of new pipelines and 2,500 rush to improve service supply 5,000 homes in the municipality.
This work responds to the public interest by water losses detected in recent years, as well as health criteria for the quality of drinking water.
In addition, this work will improve the pressure in the properties of the affected areas and prevent the City Council in the coming years take payment for economic imbalance, which had been producing since 2007 for water losses.
Aqualia makers and the company responsible for undertaking the work have told city officials the technical characteristics of the project and the materials used in the work, whose execution time is one year.
