Family, friends and colleagues recalled yesterday it was municipal councilor of San Pedro del Pinatar between 1999 and 2007, Santiago Agustina García, in an emotional ceremony in which a plaque with his name was discovered at the Center for Social Services and Women .

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez and Agustina widower Santiago, Diego Molina, yesterday discovered the nameplate of the council that henceforth called the Center for Women and Social Services of the municipality.

The full City Council agreed last February 6 give the name of Santiago García Agustina this center in honor of the work he did for its construction, as well as the head of the Department of Social Services and Women from 1999 to 2007.

After unveiling the plaque, Visitacion Martinez recalled delivering Agustina Santiago with the town, mainly with underprivileged.

So, the mayor reminded Agustina James as a woman restless fighter, who always worked for others on the street, knowing first hand their problems and seeking solutions to improve their quality of life.

Among other actions and projects in front of the Department of Social Services and Women, Visitacion Martinez pointed to the internal reorganization and the creation of different departments to improve care for specific groups, launched the Department of Women and bet that the center of Lo Pagán counted over two spaces, one dedicated to the pensioner's home and day center where occassionally older dependents who require special care and attention.

These actions, Agustina Santiago promoted the construction of center Social Services therefore concluded the mayor is given now his name "as tribute, in a small way to pay the debt of gratitude to Agustina, to preserve his memory and perpetuate his I remember. "

During the ceremony, Diego Molina thanked the tribute to his wife, and the words that members of the different political groups in the city dedicated to him last February 6.

The event was attended, among others, councilors current government team, Senator and Mayor of corporations which comprised, Pedro José Pérez and aldermen of legislatures in which he served, and dozens of relatives and neighbors.
