The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, the Councillor for Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, and the president of the Federation of Triathlon Region, Diego Calvo, VI Triathlon presented today in Las Salinas Marina sprint, held the Saturday May 24 and recovering this evidence he expected around 200 participants.
This test, part of the regional circuit Triathlon includes 750 meters in the swim, which takes place on the beach of La Llana, 20 kilometer bike and 5 kilometer walk and is also developed in the environment of the Natural Park and Marina Puerto de Las Salinas.
The president of the Triathlon Federation Region highlighted the "charm" of this test and the projection of the sport within the Community, which in recent years has grown exponentially the number of tests and licenses, already over a thousand.
During the press conference, was also upfront popular racing schedule to be held in the coming months in the town.
Visitation Martinez explained that this sporting agenda includes, besides the Marina Sprint Triathlon Las Salinas, racing Pinatar Full Moon Race Stint and 13.4, to be held in July and October respectively in the environment of the Regional Park, and the fun run Pinatarius obstacles Obstaculum Cursus, a test set in ancient Rome and framed in the festivities.
The mayor stressed that the city has invested in this race calendar for tests developed in the natural environment of Regional Park and the beaches of the Mediterranean, as an alternative to traditional urban tests.
The race schedule is also part of the work carried out by the City Council for the seasonal and tourism specialization, which has in the sports tourism one of its main lines, stressed Martinez.
For his part, Councillor for Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, has praised the work done by the staff of this department, as well as federations, companies, associations and individuals who have collaborated in the planning of these tests.
After the Triathlon, which this weekend celebrated the first race meeting will Pinatarius Obstaculum cursus, June 21, a test with a more festive and fun that competitive nature in which participants must overcome obstacles in over 20 7 kilometers a tour which will be starting and finishing at the Leisure Centre and Emerging Arts.
In this second edition, it also includes the Kids Run "Pinatarius Impuves" with adapted for children 6 to 13 years of testing, which will be held at 18:30 pm, also at the Center for Emerging Architecture Arts.
On Saturday July 12th the inaugural night race Pinatar Full Moon, a test under the full moon 8 miles starting and finishing at the sports center Pinatar Arena, which will visit the beach of La Torre Road Demolished and be held El Puerto, and also complete tests with children and other entertainment activities.
On October 5, the calendar closes with the second edition of the popular race Sandpiper, which takes place entirely in the vicinity of the Regional Park, starting and finishing in the port of Marina Salinas and includes a test of 13.4 kilometers and one of 7.6 in addition to promoting children's races.
