A virtual history file shows the evolution of the municipality through photographs (23/07/2014)

The municipal website has a new section with photographs of museum archive Benifayó Baron, allowing users geolocalizarlas and observe the change of the town at various points

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez and New Technologies Councilman Alvaro Tárraga have offered today at a press conference balance data and presentation municipal website a new section on this website that includes a file Historical photo.

This virtual file, which is accessed from the home page in the "museum" tab, File includes photographs of Baron Benifayó Municipal Museum, classified both dates, such as places or geopositioned.

The photographs include the date of the image, location and description.

In addition, specific sections such as aerial photographs, celebrations, etc. are added.

The system of geo photos on a map of the town also permits you to see how the town has evolved, noting the image of that same point today.

The mayor, Visitacion Martinez, explained that this is a step in the renovation and modernization of the municipal web portal, which was launched two years ago, getting significantly increase the number of annual visits, from about 70,000 to 174,000, more one million page views this period of two years.

This municipal web portal was conceived from the beginning as an accessible and flexible tool for management and bring the town to the citizens of San Pedro del Pinatar and also those who visit it, also providing access via mobile devices by means which consult the web and 40% of users.

Parallel to the renewal of the web the City Council has also implemented in the major social networks, added the mayor.

Councilman New Technologies has stressed that the new section of the municipal website will help to disseminate local history and urged all interested neighbors to contribute their images to give greater content to this section.

Currently the file includes 80 photographs will be gradually expanded with the bottom of archaeological and ethnographic museum Benifayó Baron.
