Theatre, culinary workshops and photos show in San Pedro del Pinatar the role of artisanal fisheries (03/09/2014)

The awareness campaign "PescaSos", coordinated by the association Columbares Murcia and Almeria coastline during the summer, will be held in the town this week to show the key role of fisheries and the conservation of marine biodiversity

The Columbares association, in collaboration with the Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar and the Brotherhood of Fishermen town will develop from 6 to 8 September various awareness activities, which include theatrical actions, a photo exhibition and culinary workshops.

PescaSos is an initiative of the Association Columbares, financed by the European Fisheries Fund and the Biodiversity Foundation, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, to promote artisanal fisheries;

contribute to the transparency of the markets for fishery products;

diversify the fishing economy through the promotion of activities such as fishing tourism;

and promote cooperation between scientists and the fishing industry.

After visiting various coastal municipalities as Mazarrón, Aguilas, Garrucha and Mojacar, the campaign comes this weekend to San Pedro del Pinatar, where theatrical performances include "The fish?
