The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, president of the Alzheimer's Association Mar Menor (AMMA) and Raquel Peña, today presented the new partnership, which was established with the aim of providing support to people with this disease and their carers and family.
Visitation Martinez has praised this initiative, born of the British community in the municipality and which has among its objectives to foster care and necessary assistance to Alzheimer's patients, encourage the creation of specialized centers and provide a first orientation at the first signs of disease.
Also, the mayor reiterated the support of the City, through the assignment of a room in the home of pensioner San Pedro del Pinatar, advice from the Department of Citizenship and coordination with local volunteer plan.
Meanwhile, Raquel Peña noted that the association, which is open people suffering from any type of dementia, born with the aim of helping patients and families and in the long term, to create a skilled care for these patients in the area.
He has also attacked the people and institutions that have made possible the creation of this association, including Dolores Atienza stressed, the Alzheimer's Association of Murcia, who also attended the presentation.
Atienza has stressed the important role that these associations with both the patient and their families as it is a disease that occurs gradually but in its most advanced stage leaves the patient in a situation of total dependence.
The event ended with a discussion with the audience and the donation of 1,400 and 250 euros, respectively, of the theater groups ShowGroup, Torrevieja and Campoverde.
