Red Cross Channel 1 Mar Menor Torre Pacheco and Alfonso de la Cruz awarded the Golden Parra (22/11/2014)

The Andreu family, developer of the award that was born after the floods of 1987, celebrated the twenty-fifth edition of the Golden Parra, incorporating two new awards at county and regional level.

The Cultural Casino de San Pedro del Pinatar hosted last night Friday, November 21, delivery of the XXV Parra de Oro, Andreu award given by the family since 1988, after floods ravaged the town marmenorense 4 November 1987 and to reward the charitable work of pinatarenses who contributed to mitigate its damages.

Precisely these floods were protagonists in the first minutes of the evening with the screening of a video promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, in which images and testimonies of those hours in which some neighbors were shown town lost almost everything they had, but that emerged in the union of a people as a whole to get back to normal in record time.

After the screening, José Andreu, known as Pepe "The Vines" he addressed the audience which included officials from the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, Pilar de la Horadada, San Javier and Torre Pacheco, winners from previous years, family, as well as a broad representation of society in the region, to thank you for attending this event.

The award was for locally Mar Menor North Red Cross work in San Pedro del Pinatar since 1971. The president of the regional assembly, Fernando Argueso, collected the award and stressed the need to be far more united than ever.

In this regard, he recalled that the Red Cross realizes projects dedicated to helping needy families in the municipality and appreciated the work of the volunteers who make possible the work of this group.

Then Channel 1 Mar Menor Torre Pacheco received the Gold Award Regional Parra 20th anniversary of emissions of this television channel, the first surface wave in the Mar Menor and has become an informative, informative and reference entertainment across the region.

They received the award Manuel Muñoz, founder and director of television and Carmen Laura Schmidt, his manager.

Muñoz, in his address highlighted the daily work of professionals who for 20 years have made this TV a reality and reach every household in the area.

The third and final award of the evening was the journalist Alfonso Caravaca de la Cruz who received Parra Regional Gold Award for his more than thirty years of journalism in various print and broadcast media, as well as for the great success of the program directed and presented at the Regional Television 7RM, "From Land to Sea" and where each week is "doing Region".

De la Cruz said he was very happy to collect this award and highlighted the benefits of the Region of Murcia, of its corners and its people, stars of the TV spot from which promotes weekly earth.

Finally and to close the event, the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, congratulated the winners and thanked them from different areas, contribute to the growth and projection of the town.

He also encouraged the Parras Pepe and his family to keep these awards that have already become a social reference in the municipality.
