The tent city of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted on Sunday, December 13th, the documentary Memories Crusades, a study conducted by the Department of Citizen Participation, through the Bank Pinatarense Wisdom project, in collaboration with the cultural association AIKE Mar Menor.
This project came to honor the largest in the county in 2012 for the celebration of the Year of Intergenerational, and in order to treasure oral sources of the recent history of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The third edition of Proceedings Crusades collects experiences and experiences of Joseph Vera Vidal, known as "Pepe the Segundino" which tackled the hard work in the salt;
Albaladejo Lopez Dolores "Lola Mingolesa" Hall worker from the 40s, Jose Luis Perez Rock, "Rabbit", which was how hard life at sea, Julia Martinez Henarejos, working chocolate factory and the emerging tourism industry and Tárraga Gloria Carrasco, who recalled in this project courtships of the time or rituals to prepare the marriage.
From the hand of the five protagonists, attendees learned about the everyday, the unofficial history, lifestyle, anecdotes and relations between residents of the municipality in the decades of the 40s and 50s, discovering local history in an entertaining way , recovering the memory of the people to pass on to future generations.
The event, attended by about 350 people, featured a performance by the Municipal Band Musical Union, which livened up the event with the interpretation of several musical pieces.
In conclusion, the mayor, Visitation Martinez and the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta Garcia, thanked the contribution of the participants in this project by delivering a personalized copy of the documentary.
