González Tovar visit the Fund's investments Local Investment in Emerging Arts Centre and Leisure Centre (30/07/2009)

The Government delegate pointed out that the Region of Murcia has been the recipient of 246.3 M € from the Local Investment Fund and 673 projects were approved

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, along with the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José María García, visited this morning the work of the Center for Emerging Arts and Leisure Centre, funded entirely by the Local Investment Fund in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar.

The delegate explained that in this town are being carried out 4 projects valued at 3,829,497 euros and are generating 346 direct jobs, of which 98 are newly created and 248 persons within the successful tenderers.

The first visit he made González Tovar was the Emerging Arts Center whose investment amounts to 634,155 euros and employs 71 people which aims to create a comprehensive space which brings together sports, the promotion of culture through the arts , and green spaces multidisciplinary.

In this regard, stressed the new center will have 4 distinct areas, the first house a skatepark with a sports court for this sport approximately 520 m2 of concrete surrounded by soft vegetation and security features.

The second space is composed of a Pop Art amoebae, which are manifold parts that extend about 125 m2 and create flexible exhibition spaces for the type of exposure / work.

A third space will be occupied by a miniature golf course, field comprised of seven circuits with 350 m2 for the enjoyment, concentration and relaxation of the youth of the municipality.

The útltimo space, interstitial areas make free use vegetables.

These green zones are distributed in about 1750 m2 of extension.

Subsequently, González Tovar with the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José María García have visited the site of the new Leisure Centre and Leisure whose investment amounts to 2,175,449 euros and generated 161 jobs.

Specifically, the new Leisure and Recreation will have a minibliblioteca, a conference room (small theater room or media room), a computer room, 3 multipurpose classrooms and toilets.

To this amount, a café, a gym, a cafe and a small multipurpose room.

It also includes a sports hall which would have 2 units of table tennis, pool 2 units, a living room or wii playstation, an open area or multi-purpose hall, changing rooms of 60 m2, and finally, the Leisure Centre will with an outdoor venue for performances, which would be an audience in a natural amphitheater with a stage concert of 1200m2.

With regard to the new Leisure Centre, the delegate has welcomed not only by the quality of the project and the undoubted social utility that will take in this county, but also because it has been shown as an example of high performance work in creation of jobs, more jobs being generated in all State Fund projects in the Region of Murcia.

On the other hand, González Tovar, recalled that in San Pedro del Pinatar are also underway with the State Fund works to build a playground that will serve traffic to promote road safety education amongst children, as well as works to create a green space with the garden of Salinas in the natural setting that has the same name.

The Government delegate stressed that the work of the State Fund are meeting the primary objective of the State Fund, job creation, but also are helping to improve infrastructure and facilities of the municipality.

"The City of San Pedro del Pinatar has had full autonomy to present the project and chose the actions deemed most necessary, at the same time, the Government of Spain is fully funding all works."

The Local Investment Fund to date

Moreover, Gonzalez Tovar reported that to date, the Ministry of Planning Policy has been transferred to 43 municipalities in the region EUR 160,549,870, corresponding to 634 projects have received funding for the 70 percent of the total payment projects.

Also pointed out that 30% is being delivered upon completion of each performance and justify the investment with the Government of Spain.

In this sense, González Tovar explained that since late last June, is beginning to pay the completion of the work of the State Fund in the region.

In particular, Lorca and Santomera municipalities have already received the final payment of 5 projects.

"Everything is being carried out with great speed and efficiency, the delegate stated" The Government is meeting its commitments in a timely manner, first by paying 70 percent of each project, once they are awarded by the municipalities, and then paying the remaining 30 percent, to finish the works and submit the relevant certificates. "

Likewise, the delegate explained that the number of jobs created and financed the works awarded the Local Investment Fund is more than 45 percent higher than initially expected.

In this sense, explained that, to date, have already created 12,680 jobs, of these, 4,123 are newly created, and 8557 of persons within the successful tenderers.

The Government delegate pointed out that the Region of Murcia has been the recipient of 246.3 M € of this fund and once the presentation phase of projects, 673 projects submitted were approved by the 45 municipalities in the region.
